Bailey is a retired service dog and mommy. She had her retirement spay and now enjoys playing fetch, sleeping by our bed and letting people know they have forgotten to pick up their clothes or put away shoes. She will diligently pick each up, take them to their owner and give the miscreant a steady stare that says, did you forget something?

Danny
The dog who loves his kong
Danny is a whirlwind in play.
Danny is very much the resident ready to go at the sight of a lead kind of dog. He enjoys keeping company as I take my walks to gain steps. While I’m getting steps, he’s sniffing the fields and enjoying what his nose picks up. We have deer, antelope, porcupines, skunks, badgers , coyotes,, and more. Being on a long line keeps him from making contact, but he does enjoy the chance to sniff and roll where our wild neighbors have been.

Gypsy aka Pudge
Retired
Her motto is, if it hits the floor, it is MINE!
Gypsy was difficult to breed. She had one litter. She was a very attentive mommy, her puppies thrived and grew like weeds. But her heat was unpredictable and she showed no signs of being in heat when she was. An experienced male managed to breed her once. But we decided one litter was enough. We retired her, got her spayed, and she is the queen of snacking. She has no problem snatching any treat another dog may drop, and is shameless in her scarfing up anything dropped during summer BBQs.

Magic
Snuggles in residence
Enjoys just being near her people.
Magic has never been bred. She is a family dog. She enjoys cuddles and will fall asleep in your lap while being cuddled. She likes watching tv and will woof back at the tv dog woofing. But mostly she is a quiet calm dog that just wants to be close to her people.

Rex
Retired and enjoying the good life
His favorite pass time, slipping up on our bed and stretching out for a nap.
Rex knows how to enjoy his retirement. Wake up take a leisurely lap around the main yard. Come in for snacks, get up in one of the empty recliners and watch tv. Then it’s more snacks, and time for a serious snooze. So up on the bed when no one is paying attention, stretch out head on pillow and snooze until supper is served.

Buddy
Retired
Had one of the shorter terms of service due to trauma and ptsd
Buddy started out as a promising eager pup. Ready to take on the world. Until a trip to the airport turned into a traumatic event. A large woman self medicating for flying. Stumbled from van, fell on top of him and began screaming she was being attacked. All her trying to stand and repeatedly falling on him combined with her screaming had a permanent effect on him. Security and bystanders helped to rescue him and calm the woman down. During the whole event Buddy hadn’t even scratched her let alone bitten. He just laid there violently shaking. From that day on strangers, particularly women frightened him. So we gave him medication and time to heal. Today he once again loves to play fetch and has regained trust in people he sees regularly. He enjoys long walks around the farm and playing with the other dogs.
